For Parents
Camp One is Menai Anglican Church’s annual camp for Yr 6-8, and Yr 9-12 students where they can come and have the time of their lives.
Students get to participate in a whole variety of activities such as: waterslide, ‘tribal’ games, capture the flag, safari, man-arvo and woman-arvo. Each day students also hear a talk from God’s word, the Bible, and spend time in small groups chatting about God, life and the world we live in.
If your son or daughter is hesitant about coming, we can almost guarantee they will have a great time. We work hard at stamping out any bullying, making sure all students are included, and encouraging positive relationships. Every year we find that camp is a great place for students to make new friends and be included in a big community.
We have a leadership team of around 40 leaders, all of whom have completed the NSW Government’s Working with Children Check and a Safe Ministry course. Several leaders are first aid qualified. We also have two sets of ‘Camp Parents’ who are available to help in a number of ways such as administration of medication, emotional and social wellbeing support, and parent communication.

MAC YOUTH TECHNOLOGY POLICY
Camp One is a highlight event for MAC Youth. It is a week where we get away from “normal” life, spend time under God’s Word, and in a community that is like nowhere else.
However, one of the things that can very easily spoil this is when technology is misused or overused. Therefore Camp One has a “no phone” policy. We are asking parents to keep their child/ren’s phones and technology at home. However, the alternative option is upon arrival at Camp One, the leadership team will collect mobile phones to keep and store. Each day there will be an allocated time where kids are able to collect their phones for a limited amount of screen time. They will then be collected again. Phones will be returned at departure.
Whilst on Camp, we are excited to ‘be with who we are with’, and enjoy the company, friendships and fun in the moment. Camp Parents and the Youth Minister will be available 24/7 to take any emergency calls for your child/ren.
If you do have any questions or concerns, our Youth Minister can be contacted via email.
Note: Mobile phone reception can be limited at the campsite. Landline: (02) 8268 3322
