For Parents

Camp One is Menai Anglican Church’s annual camp for Year 6 to Year 12 students where they can come and have the time of their lives.

Students get to participate in a whole variety of activities such as: waterslide, ‘tribal’ games, capture the flag, safari, hunger games, man-arvo and woman-arvo. Each day students also hear a talk from God’s word, the Bible, and spend time in small groups chatting about God, life and the world we live in.

If your son or daughter is hesitant about coming, we can almost guarantee they will have a great time. We work hard at stamping out any bullying, making sure all students are included, and encouraging positive relationships. Every year we find that camp is a great place for students to make new friends and be included in a big community.

We have a leadership team of around 50 leaders, all of whom have completed the NSW Government’s Working with Children Check and a Safe Ministry course. Several leaders are first aid qualified. We also have a number of ‘camp parents’ who help balance the ratio of teenagers to adults and provide a more mature perspective..

MAC YOUTH TECHNOLOGY POLICY ON CAMP ONE

Camp One is a highlight event for MAC Youth. It is a week where we get to “escape” the rest of the world, get away under God’s Word, and build friendships with the possibility of even making new ones.

However, one of the things that can very easily spoil this is when we misuse or overuse technology.

Camp One does not have a strict “no technology” policy. However, the leadership team will be actively encouraging time away from mobile phones whilst on Camp One. Additionally, we are asking parents to ensure that their kids do not bring with them any gaming consoles, laptops, iPads or any other unnecessary items of technology.

Whilst on Camp, we are excited to be with who we are with, and enjoy the company, friendships and fun in the moment.

Please chat with the MAC Youth coordinating team if you have any questions or concerns.

Note: Mobile phone reception can be limited at the campsite. Landline: (02) 8268 3322

Camp One T-Shirt
