For Youth
Camp One is the best week of the year. Imagine hanging with all your friends for a week! Epic games, unreal live band and music, quality Bible teaching, and no parents!
If you’ve never been to Camp One and you’re feeling a bit unsure or nervous – have no doubt – this is a great week. Our leaders work hard at making sure all campers feel included and have a good time. Even if you come to camp not knowing anyone, you’ll leave having made some great new friends and feeling like you belong to a great big family.
What happens on camp?
DAY 1 (Monday): Campers arrive from 5pm and get settled into their cabins, meet their leaders and roommates and then we have dinner together at 6.30pm. At around 7.30pm we’ll have our first night session. Night sessions are similar to a night at MAC Youth, with songs led by our epic band, prayer, Bible reading and the first talk from our speaker, plus some extra fun stuff thrown in. After the sessions we split into r87 (Yr 6-8) and Neon (Yr 9-12) for some games and supper.
DAYS 2-4 (Tuesday – Thursday): It’s 8am, rise and shine, time for breakfast! Get the day started right with a meal and some Bible time. After breakfast we all do a “TAWG” (time alone with God), then meet in our small groups to read the Bible, discuss it, ask questions and pray together.
After a morning tea break it’s time for games for r87 and free time for Neon. We meet back for lunch, and then have an awesome afternoon of more games, activities and hanging out before some free time and dinner. After dinner it’s time for a night session again!
DAY 5 (Friday): Our last day of camp! This morning will be the same as the previous days, and then after morning tea we’ll pack up and head home happy and exhausted at midday. BUT – Camp One is not over yet…
CAMP FINALE: Saturday 22nd April at 6:00pm
The Camp One finale is a great chance to get together with our campers and their parents and celebrate the week we’ve had together. We gather at “SNC”, the Saturday night church service at Menai Anglican Church, and hear the final talk in the Bible teaching series from our camp speaker. Afterwards we’ll enjoy dinner together onsite at church. We will also get to watch a bunch of the videos that capture the highlights of our week together. All are welcome!

MAC YOUTH TECHNOLOGY POLICY ON CAMP ONE
Camp One is a highlight event for MAC Youth. It is a week where we get to “escape” the rest of the world, get away under God’s Word, and build friendships with the possibility of even making new ones.
However, one of the things that can very easily spoil this is when we misuse or overuse technology.
Camp One does not have a strict “no technology” policy. However, the leadership team will be actively encouraging time away from mobile phones whilst on Camp One. Additionally, we are asking parents to ensure that their kids do not bring with them any gaming consoles, laptops, iPads or any other unnecessary items of technology.
Whilst on Camp, we are excited to be with who we are with, and enjoy the company, friendships and fun in the moment.
Please chat with the MAC Youth coordinating team if you have any questions or concerns.
